The highly regarded Edna Valley AVA provides wines of structure and depth. This cool climate Grenache is quite different than those grown in warm climates offering brooding, layered flavors and finesse. The unique climate and geography of this part of the Central Coast allows Grenache to fully mature, 4-6 weeks after Pinot Noir ripens! The wine has a beautiful ruby color with aromas and flavors of cherries, red fruits and spice. It is very drinkable already but will benefit from bottle age. $45.00

This isn’t the first Bedford Tempranillo, but it is certainly the best. Unfortunately it is a small production. Though the most famous red in Spain, the varietal is just catching on in this country. The 2021 Tempranillo is an elegant expression of the grape with medium body, and a pretty purple color with touches of magenta. Aromas of sour cherries with brambly wood notes are joined by layers of herbs and cedar overlayed with hints of baking spices that come together on a long, complex finish. The wine was aged in new and one-year old French puncheons for 16 months. The is a wine to lay down for five to 10 years to see it full expression. $55.00
